Who We Are
It’s Ok GiGis Giving Hands Foundation Inc. of McDonough, Georgia is a nonprofit organization that helps homeless individuals and battered women find housing as well as provides advocacy and rehabilitation services. We believe that stable housing enables people to flourish and empowers them to change their lives. We are conscious of the growing need for housing in our state. On any given day, there are more than 10,000 homeless people in Georgia. And more than 35% of women and 39% of men in our state experience physical violence. It is our goal to change the lives of some of these individuals.
This organization was founded in memory of DeVontae "Bernard" Griffieth, a graduate of Ola High School, Southern Crescent Technical College, and Mercer University, a loving young man and an amazing son. Tragically, DeVontae's life was cut short in 2020, but his words of encouragement and inspiration remained in the spirit of his mom. Despite any challenge or obstacles in life, he would always tell her "Its okay". These words echo in her heart each day as she seeks to touch the lives of those in need.

What We Believe
There’s nothing better than hearing reassuring words when you are facing difficulties in life. A simple “It's Okay" can provide hope and encouragement. When these words are followed by support and a helping hand, they become even more impactful. Founded in 2020, It's Ok GiGi's Giving Hands Foundation Inc. is dedicated to helping the homeless in Metro Atlanta. Families and individuals have faced unprecedented hardships over the past year, and we want to address the needs of the homeless and women seeking to leave abusive relationships. We believe that stable housing is a basic, human right.
How We Can Help
It's Ok is dedicated to helping the less fortunate. Our individualized approach looks at the needs of each person we service. We provide everything from spiritual counseling and mental health resources to job readiness training. It's Ok also understands that clients may need ongoing support. During our pilot program, we are creating an advocacy plan that takes into account the complexities of rehabilitation. We hope to reach beyond the borders of the Greater Metro Atlanta area in the near future.
We provide the following services:
Our Rehabilitation Plan
We will conduct a one year pilot program servicing two to five clients. We hope to get results that will show our comprehensive skills in rehabilitating our city’s homeless population. We also will create relationships with local businesses and solicit their support in the form of clothing, food, and monetary donations. This will show the support that we will offer in our community.
